Blue Angels end the 2025 season in the snow at Fort Dodge Iowa

Blue Angles at the start

Ryann Becker and Kyndall Sturgeon You never know what November will bring you in the midwest. The snow found its way to Fort Dodge Iowa on the same day as the NJCAA's largest attended event, the Cross Country Championships. Well over 100 colleges from all over the United Sates traveled to Iowa for 6 races starting in the morning of November 8th at the Lakeside Country Club north of Fort Dodge. The racers were greeted with cold temperatures and several inches of snow on the race course. By the time the Blue Angels lined up in box 11 at the start line, the 5K course was well traveled by the previous 5 races. With 44 full teams and 321 racers, the start was elbow to elbow as everyone headed to a ninety degree turn. The course winds around the golf course with several turns and  twists and lots of the areas were nothing but mud. The race was not about how fast you finished but was about survival and just getting across the finish line. Sophomores Kyndall Sturgeon and Ryann Becker had good start and were leading the initial push for the Angels with Rylee Brammeier and Gracie Morgan maneuvering to move up in the ranks. The next three Blue Angels Alli Lammers, Ivy Donoho, and Lucy Walters kept battling the elements and moving forward. The Blue Angels finished with the same grit and courage they had shown all year. The team placed 38th out of 44 full teams with the finishing order of Rylee, Gracie, Kyndall, Ryann, with in approximatley 14 seconds of each other. Ivy was the number 5 counter followed by Alli and Lucy. These young ladies worked hard all season and well represented the college as athletes and as role models. Thank you!
