The Blue Angels competed in the 12 team UIS Prairie Star invitational located on the campus of the University of Illinois Springfield campus. The meet was won by the host team UIS with a team score of 19 points over the 5K distances. Truman was second with 26 points. The Angels placed 8th with 197 points. The Blue Angels were led by the duet (not sure if they can sing?) of Rylee Brammeier and Gracie Morgan with times of 21:48 and 21:49. Alli Lammers was next in a time of 22:58 with Ryann Becker and Ivy Donoho next in times of 23:01.0 and 23:01.2, 3-5 pack time of 3 seconds! The 1-5 pack time of 1 minute and 13 seconds. Right behind those three was Kyndall Sturgeon in a time of 23:38. Cora Hill crossed in a time of 24:38 followed by Tessa Drueke in a time of 25:53. "Everyone improved from the first race, it was great to see the ladies running as packs, with Rye and Gracie working together in the front spots and then Becker leading the next group of Ivy and Alli. Kyndall showed big improvement as did Cora and Tessa. The team goal was to get the average time down to under 23 minutes and they accomplished that with a time of 22 minutes and 13 seconds." The Blue Angels travel to Peoria on September 19th for the Bradley Intercolleigiate Meet at Detweiller Park.
