Joe Basch is entering his 19th season as head coach of the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels women's soccer program. Since becoming the program's first head coach, he has built a tradition of excellence, compiling a career record of 172-89-21 while establishing the Blue Angels as a consistent regional contender.

Throughout his tenure, Basch has mentored numerous student-athletes to success both on the field and in the classroom. Under his leadership, Kaskaskia College has produced one NJCAA All-American, 36 All-Region selections, and 48 student-athletes who have continued their academic and athletic careers at four-year institutions. His commitment to academic achievement is equally impressive, with the program earning 15 NJCAA Academic All-America Team honors and producing 57 individual Academic All-Americans. Among active NJCAA women's soccer coaches, Basch ranks 14th nationally in career victories. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he serves as the NJCAA Region XXIV Women's Soccer Chair and is also the head coach of the Kaskaskia College men's and women's tennis programs.

A native of Centralia, Illinois, Basch graduated from Centralia High School in 2003 after a distinguished prep career in both soccer and track and field. A four-year varsity soccer starter—spending one season at Pekin High School—he earned three All-Conference selections, playing both forward and defender. As a senior, he was named Offensive Player of the Year and served as team co-captain. In track and field, he qualified twice for the IHSA State Championships.

Basch continued his athletic and academic career at Marian University in Indianapolis, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management in 2007. As a member of both the soccer and track and field teams, he competed as a defender on the soccer team and qualified three times for the NAIA National Championships in track. He was also a founding member of Marian University's Student-Athlete Advisory Board.

Before joining Kaskaskia College, Basch served as the assistant boys soccer coach at Macomb High School, helping guide the program to the IHSA Sweet Sixteen.

Basch and his wife, Kim, who serves in the Nursing and Allied Health Department at Kaskaskia College, reside in Centralia, Illinois. They are the proud parents of their daughter, Natalie Paige.
