Joe Basch is entering his 10 season as head coach of the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels tennis program. During his tenure, he has developed a highly competitive program while emphasizing excellence in both athletics and academics. Under his leadership, Kaskaskia has produced numerous All-Region performers, Academic All-Americans, and two NJCAA Academic All-America Teams.

Basch guided the Blue Devils to NJCAA Region 24 Championships in both the 2018-19 and 2020-21 seasons, earning berths in the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis National Championships. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he serves as the NJCAA Region XXIV Men's Tennis Chair and is also the head coach of the Kaskaskia College women's tennis and women's soccer programs.

A native of Centralia, Illinois, Basch graduated from Centralia High School in 2003 following a distinguished athletic career in soccer and track and field. A four-year varsity soccer letterwinner—spending one season at Pekin High School—he earned three All-Conference selections, playing both forward and defender. As a senior, he was named Offensive Player of the Year and served as team co-captain. He was also a two-time IHSA State qualifier in track and field.

Basch continued his academic and athletic career at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management in 2007. He competed as a defender on the soccer team and was a three-time NAIA national qualifier in track and field. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Basch was a founding member of Marian University's Student-Athlete Advisory Board.

Before joining Kaskaskia College, Basch served as the boys soccer coach at Macomb High School, helping lead the program to an IHSA Sweet Sixteen appearance.

Basch and his wife, Kim, reside in Centralia, Illinois, with their daughter, Natalie Paige.
