The setting was beautiful, the weather was perfect, some say the rolling hills was a perfect example of a cross country course. I often wonder if those that say that, actually ever ran?? Whatever your opinion on that subject, one thing is for sure, everyone gets the same terrain to race on. The Blue Devils showed no fear and went about the business at hand. The trio of Oliver Lee, Brady Marshall, and Caidien Beer charged up the hills and down the hills to put together another solid race. Today's event was about racing and not time, the race was about beating people, getting the across the finish line anyway you could. whether that finish was sprint across, a collapse (Noah Markus) or a lunge! The next group was the pack of Andrew Latham, Jack Walters, Branson Pappas, Blake Heimann, and Noah Markus. Latham and Walters made the break to finish as the 4th and 5th counters with Pappas and Heimann 6th and 7th. Markus was 8th for the team followed by Will Tepe and Zerek Koch. The National Ranked Heartland Hawks were the clear favorites and capture the 1st place team spot. The battle for 2nd was tight with the Spoon College team edging the Devils by 1 point. The effort was there, the drive to compete was there, the Devils continue to improve and will have one more race on the big stage to see how the 2025 team will be remembered.
