Mary Ann Bohbrink
played an immense role in the development of women’s sports
at Kaskaskia College as the first coach for women’s
basketball, volleyball and softball.
Mary Ann graduated from the University of Illinois with a
teaching degree in physical education. In 1975, Mary Ann
coached the inaugural seasons for women’s softball and
volleyball; she took on basketball coaching duties in 1976. Lauded
as a great role model by her players, Mary Ann's personality and
dedication made for a successful program.
Mary Ann passed away in 2007 and was posthumously inducted into
the Kaskaskia College Athletic Hall of Fame.
