The top JUCO women golfers gathered in Georgia for the 2017 NJCAA National Championship. The four-day tournament featured players from 16 different countries around the globe. The top five finishers were from Turkey, Thailand, Canada, South Korea, and England, respectively.
Representing Kaskaskia College in the field of golfers were sophomore Lacey McTall (Irvington, Centralia HS), sophomore Casey Willenborg (Teutopolis), and freshman Christonia Saddler (Sandoval). McTall led the Blue Angels with a four day total of 352. Her best round of 83 came on the last day of the tourney. McTall finished 4th among the 10 players from Region 24 and 61st overall. Willenborg had a total score of 357 and Saddler shot a four day total of 390. Although their days at Kaskaskia are finished, sophomores McTall and Willenborg will continue to compete at the college level. McTall has accepted a scholarship to continue her academic and golfing career next year at McKendree University and Willenborg has accepted a scholarship from the University of Illinois-Springfield to continue her academic and golfing career.
