Kaskaskia College is pleased to announce that former basketball player Daren Hill was recently inducted into the KC Athletic Hall of Fame.
Daren was a member of the Blue Devils basketball team for the 1990 and 1991 Seasons. As a freshman, he averaged 15.3 points and 10 rebounds per game. He was named to the 1st team All-GRAC conference and the 2nd team All-Region. As a sophomore, he averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds per game. His accolades as a sophomore included 1st team All-GRAC conference, Player of the Year in the GRAC, 1st team All-Region, MVP of Region 24 Tournament, was named a JUCO All-American and led the Blue Devils to a 9th place finish in the national tournament played at Hutchinson Kansas. He scored 1380 points in two years at KC and graduated with an Associate in Arts Degree.
After KC, Daren was awarded a basketball scholarship to Murray State University. As a junior, he averaged 12.3 points and 5 rebounds a game. He then transferred to the University of Missouri St Louis (UMSL) for his senior year. There he was named New Comer of the Year in the MIAA, 1st team All MIAA conference, player of the week for 2 consecutive weeks and averaged 20 points and 8 rebounds a game.
Daren resides in Lansing, IL and is the proud parent of five children. He works for the American Medical Association and has been employed there for 18 years.
